The sessions of Empower Parents in our Space are held on Saturdays and Sundays están muy estructuradas espacial y temporalmente. It has a duration of 90 minutes and is divided into different sequences. This format facilitates work because estos niños, estas niñas trabajan mucho con rutinas, tareas repetidas y siempre en el mismo order.

En estas sesiones de trabajo con familias se trabaja con material adapted a las necesidades de los niños y niñas participants. Claves visuales that explains each of the actions that we will realize in the activity, the spaces in which we will move, the persons with whom we will encounter, etc. Pensadas not only to facilitate the understanding of the guidelines (given that not all children know how to read and some have difficulties in understanding spoken orders), but also to anticipate what will happen in the sessions.

Each week, we elaborate these visual keys with enough time for families to work with them at home before coming. Here are the instructions on how to get to the Fundación Telefónica Space, the photographs of the people with whom we will be in the session, the norms of the Space, the general routine of the session, the routine of the exhibition hall, the routine of the workshop y las claves visuales que generatemos como apoyos specificos para todos aquellos procesos que cremos que son más difficulos de entender (for ejemplo, cómo utilizar un teléfono con disco de marcar, cómo utilizar una centralita, etc.).

Por las características concretas de nuestras familias, utilizamos en estas claves visuales a combination of real images and pictograms, key words with simple language and videos. El resto de materials que utilizamos van siempre en esta línea. Objects that can be manipulated, sensorial materials, audiovisuals… y como no podía ser de otra manera por aquí, tecnologia adaptada a sus necessidades (tablets, makey-makey, computers, etc.).

Para poder preparer las actividades, tenemos una reunión preparatoria previa con las madres y/o padres en la que se plantean los objectives y la temica, se parten los roles de leaders, se deseñan las dinámica y definen los materials necessarios para desarrollar la actividad, tanto en la exhibition como en el taller. Todo lo que se genere para la session, lo trabajan y anticipan los adults con los niños/as durante la semana antes de ir al Espacio para que conozcan lo que van realizar.

Además de los contenidos adapted to the specific theme, we design dinámicas specificas para fomentar el dialog, la interacción entre todos los participants to facilitate learning (observation, research, relational objects/actions/concepts, memory games, basic digital skills, etc.) and collaborative work (share materials, build pieces together, etc.) and strengthen the idea of ​​the group.
