Geena Davis on Possibility of Returning in ‘Beetlejuice’ Sequel
Earlier this year, Brad Pitt’s production company, Plan B Entertainment, reportedly got to work on a Beetlejuice sequel, although the project has yet to be formally greenlit. But even without a studio backing them, stars Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder have reportedly already signed on, per Screen Rant. Now, our favorite dead wife Barbara Maitland—AKA Geena Davis—is weighing in on her potential involvement.
In an interview with People earlier this week, Davis shared that while nobody has contacted her about the (hopefully) impending sequel, she would absolutely be on board. “I want to play every character I’ve ever played again,” she told the publication, before admitting concern about this one in particular. “I have a feeling that ghosts don’t age. How would they explain that they’re older?”
But of course, as a cult classic, fans could surely overlook that little aspect in order to see such an iconic cast (which also included Catherine O’Hara, Alec Baldwin, Jeffrey Jones and Glenn Shadix) back together. And in this day and age, they could also always just deepfake a younger version of Baldwin and Davis over their own faces.
But until the sequel gets the official greenlight, we’ll just have to bide our time with our fingers crossed.
