La sala Bretón de Astillero hosts a collective exhibition with the works of the artistes ganadores y seleccionares en la IV edition of the Programa de visionado de portfolios Meet Me in Arts que desarrollan desde Noca Paper Books&More and Arko Gestión Cultural con el apoyo de la subvention de Acción Cultural del Gobierno de Cantabria y la collaboration del Ayuntamiento de Astillero.

The present edition of meet me in arts parece un faithful reflejo de los ultimos acontecimientos mundiales. The past editions marked by the pandemic involved a totally different way of relating and, now, in 2022, when the work of the artists who have presented themselves in the current edition acquires a link and common meaning.

The present edition has a multitude of works that are developed by digital media, or installations, sobre todo esto ultimo y es que pareque que, como en un attempto recuperar los spaces, lo physical, lo presentional, tenemos la necesidad de lo tridimensional, lo corpóreo, lo que ocupa y lo que debe ser émerado.

The edition, marked also by insular artists, demonstrates the need for networks, contact and the versatility of the only positive of this pandemic: recognizing that distances are not insurmountable, that we can be in multiple places at once and that relationships pueden tejerse de maneras infinitas.

The selected portfolios have fallen to Javier Caldas, the duo formed by Lucía Dorta and Maï Diallo, Eva Gárate, Magus (another duo formed by Marçía Fernanda Ferri Da´vila and Gustavo Paredes Uzcategui) and Miguel Rubio. Cuatro selección en los que el questionamiento de la imagen, la violencia, el desapego, appear como una constante en su work de diversas formas.

PRESS HERE

Press Here takes up the issues that guide the artistic practice of Marta Pujades, such as the analysis of the construction of images and the representation of subjects, as well as the relationships that are established around the materiality of photography in terms of the body and the intangibilidad del cuerpo en cuanto imagen fotografia.
The works that make up the project trace a route that covers from problematics rooted to sensorial perception before the reception of photographic images (paying special attention to the dynamics between touch and sight), the spectralization of bodies converted into appearances by shooting from the camera, the determination of the skin and the photographic surface as limits, until the modulation of a mechanism of presences and absences that traverses the planting of the project in its entirety.
