Online fashion retailer Nykaa today said its annual beauty sale ‘Pink Friday’ received 8 lakh orders on Day 1, a 40 percent growth from last year.
Purchase of make-up, skincare, and hair care products rose 14x, 12x, and 9x respectively, compared to regular days, Nykaa said in a release.
Shoppers from tier-2 and tier-3 cities collectively accounted for 57 percent of the purchases on Day 1 of Pink Friday.
There were more than 10 million visits, a growth of 37 percent from last year’s Pink Friday.
“Besides metros, the highest orders came from Lucknow, Chandigarh, Ghaziabad, Jaipur, Guwahati and Jammu,” the release said.
Nykaa’s curations and interactive experiences such as ‘Watch and Buy’ have driven high engagement, a spokesperson said.
The sale, amid the ongoing wedding season, saw luxury brands and make-up items being picked at a “significantly higher rate than non-sale days”, the spokesperson added.
Pink Friday sales are on until November 28 on its website, app, and Nykaa stores.
Shares FSN E-commerce, which were at the receiving end of investor fury recently, were trading over 3 percent higher at Rs 176.25 on BSE intraday today.
