Road Work Report for the Week Beginning August 8, 2022

HERKIMER COUNTY

Village of Ilion: (D#264728) Route 5S over Route 51. Westbound motorists will be detoured down the westbound exit ramp to a temporary three-color signal at the intersection with Route 51. They will then be directed up the entrance ramp to re-enter Route 5S westbound. Eastbound motorists will encounter a lane shift into the westbound lane with the Route 5S eastbound off ramp to Ilion closed. The signal, detour and lane shifts are due to the bridge deck replacement on Route 5S over Route 51.

Village of Ilion: (D#264647) Route 51 between Weber Ave and Fourth Street. Motorists will encounter a full road closure with a signed detour in place due to the bridge replacement over Steele Creek. The detour will be Route 51 to Route 20 to Route 28 to Route 5S back to Route 51.

Town of Columbia, Village of Ilion: (D#264479) Route 51 between Jordanville Road and Philip Street. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to guiderail and sign work.

Village of West Winfield: (D#264453) Route 20 between North Street and Fairgrounds Road. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions due to sidewalk and roadside work.

ONEIDA COUNTY

Town of New Hartford, City of Utica: (D#264350) Route 5/12 between Wilbur Road and Lomond Place. Motorists will encounter lane shifts in both directions due to replacement of the Route 8 overpass. There will also be a speed limit reduction of 45 MPH through the work zone.

Town of New Hartford, City of Utica: (D#264350) Route 8, Route 840 between Commercial Drive and Campion Road. Beginning mid-week motorists will encounter a new traffic pattern. Traffic heading eastbound on Route 840/Southbound on Route 8 will be shifted onto the new bridge. They will be in the right driving lane, and it will remain one lane at this time. Access to Route 5/12 eastbound/northbound from Route 8 southbound and Route 840 eastbound will be via the Campion Road exit.

Town of New Hartford, City of Utica: (D#264350) Route 5/12 westbound/southbound ramp to Route 8 southbound. Motorists will encounter a full disaster closure with a signed detour in place.

Town of New Hartford, City of Utica: (D#264350) Route 8 northbound ramp to Route 5/12 eastbound/ northbound. Motorists will encounter a full disaster closure with a signed detour in place.

Town of New Hartford, City of Utica: (D#264350) Route 8/840 southbound/eastbound ramp to Route 5/12 eastbound/northbound. Motorists will encounter a full disaster closure with a signed detour in place.

Town of New Hartford, City of Utica: (D#264350) Route 5/12 eastbound/northbound ramp to Route 840 westbound. Motorists will encounter a full disaster closure with a signed detour in place.

Town of New Hartford: (D#264619) Route 8 over Oneida Street. Motorists will encounter the southbound lane shift into the northbound passing lane over Oneida Street due to bridge rehabilitation operations.

City of Utica: (D#264606) Route 12 over Doyle Road. Motorists will encounter shoulder closures in both directions on Route 12 over Doyle Road. There will be lane closures in both directions with 3-color temporary signals on Doyle Road under Route 12 due to bridge painting operations. All work is weather dependent.

City of Utica: Route 5S between Broadway and Auditorium Drive. Motorists will encounter a westbound lane closure due to miscellaneous construction activities at the Nexus Center.

City of Utica: (D#264318) Route 5/8/12 at Noyes Street. There will be signalized intersection work being performed with no impact to traffic and no lane closures.

City of Rome: (D#264607) Route 825 northbound (Wright Drive) /Route 365/East Dominick Street from Route 49. Motorists will encounter a full bridge closure with a signed detour in place. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions utilizing a 3-color temporary signal under the closed bridge due to bridge rehabilitation work.

City of Rome: (D#264604) Route 26 between Route 365 and Erie Blvd. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with a speed limit reduction to 45MPH during working hours due to the construction of new project ramps, mainline shoulder, and joint repairs.

Town of Western: (D#264624) Route 274 between Oliver Road and Long Shore Road. Motorists will encounter a full road closure with a signed detour in place. The detour will use Route 46 and Route 365.

Town of Bridgewater: (D#264376) Route 8 between Mapledale Road north and south. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to culvert replacement work.

MADISON COUNTY

Village of Canastota: (D#264448) Route 13 between NYS Thruway Exit 34 and Warners Road. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with temporary signals in place. Construction work is off the road and there will be the occasional stoppage of traffic due to material deliveries.

Village of Canastota: (D#264449) Route 13 at Center Street and Route 13 at Canal Street. Motorists will encounter short term lane closures in both directions due to striping and sidewalk work.

Village of Wampsville: (D#264449) Route 5 at Frier Lane. There will be sidewalk work occurring with no lane closures or impact to traffic.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY

City of Amsterdam: (D#264031) Route 30 over the Canal. Motorists will encounter the closure of the middle lane in both directions. Route 5 east bound ramp to Route 30 south bound remains closed. Erie Street eastbound will be closed and a temporary traffic signal will be used. Cleveland Ave is closed under the Route 30 bridge for waterline work. Throughout the week we will see a combination of daily and overnight lane closures in both the north and south bound lanes while the installation of precast concrete bridge barrier and striping takes place on the Route 30 bridge over the Mohawk River. The ER ramp will be closed on 8/11 & 8/12 between 7am & 5pm to facilitate north and south bound striping operations on the Route 30 over the Mohawk River bridge. On 8/11 the following north bound ramps will be closed from 7am-5pm: Route 30 north bound to Route 5 eastbound, Route 30 northbound to Erie Street, Erie Street to Route 30 north bound. On 8/12 the following southbound ramps will be closed from 7am-5pm: Route 30 southbound to Bridge Street, Bridge Street to Route 30 southbound.

City of Amsterdam: (D#264508) Route 5 between County Route 157 and Route 30 southbound. The temporary signal on Market Street is active. Route 5 eastbound is closed from Church Street to Market Street/Division Street. Route 5 westbound is closed from Division Street to Route 30 southbound. Route 5 eastbound is closed 200 feet east of Church Street to Liberty Street. Liberty Street is also closed. Route 5 eastbound traffic is detoured to Market Street south or Route 5 to Route 30 northbound. Liberty Street traffic is detoured to Route 5 east and west bound.

City of Amsterdam: (D#264347) Route 5S at Route 30NB/SB ramps and Route 30 Thruway Exit 27. Motorists will encounter intermittent traffic control and lane shifting with flaggers in place for various pavement marking striping. On Route 5S @ PS Street there will be shoulder closure work. There will also be short term traffic control while demolition work is being performed.

Village of Fonda: (D#264656) Route 334 between Route 5 and Veeder Street. Motorists will encounter various lane closure work with flaggers in place due to sidewalk and hardscape work.

Village of Fonda: (D#264656) Route 5 between Hickory Hill Road and Mohawk Drive. Motorists will encounter various lane closure work with flaggers in place due to sidewalk and hardscape work.

Village of Fort Johnson: (D#264383) Route 5 at the intersection of Route 67. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions due to the removal of the existing signal equipment at the intersection of Route 5 at Route 67. There will also be miscellaneous signal work being performed .

Village of Canajoharie: (D#264620) Route 5S between Little Mohawk Street and Mitchell Street. There will be bridge work being performed with no impact to traffic.

Town of Glen: (D#264729) Route 5S between Ingersoll Road and Auriesville Road. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with a 3-color temporary signal in place due to bridge work on the bridge over Auries Creek.

Town of Minden: (D#264479) Route 80 between Casler Road and Fordsbush Road. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to culvert, drainage, guiderail, and sign work.

FULTON COUNTY

Town of Johnstown, Town of Ephratah: (D#264567) Route 67 between Route 10 and Abel Drive. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to paving operations.

City of Johnstown: (D#264292) Route 29, Route 30A between Briggs Street and Prindle Ave. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions due to traffic signal work. There will be intermittent flagging operations at the intersection of Route 30A @ Briggs Street.

Town of Oppenheim: (D#264600) Route 29 between Stowell Road and Montana Road. Motorists will encounter a full road closure with a signed detour in place. The detour will be traffic traveling from the east: Route 10 in Ephratah to Route 67 then west on to Route 5 in Little Falls to north on Route 167 to Route 29 in Dolgeville. Motorists traveling from the west: Route 29 in Dolgeville to south on Route 167 to east on Route 5 in Little Falls to Route 67 and Route 10 in Ephratah.

HAMILTON COUNTY

Town of Inlet: Route 28 between the Herkimer County line and Sagamore Road. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to utility work.

*Pavement marking operations will be occurring on various routes and various locations in Herkimer, Madison, and Oneida Counties. Motorists will encounter lane closures and lane shifts with flaggers in place. All work is weather dependent.
