KUALA LUMPUR: Salcon Bhd has bagged a contract worth RM209.95mil from Pengurusan Aset Air Bhd (PAAB) for the proposed development of Langat 2 water treatment plant and water reticulation system in Selangor.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Salcon said its wholly owned subsidiary, Salcon Engineering Bhd accepted the letter of acceptance issued by PAAB.
The scope of the project is to design and build a residual conveyance and disposal system for Langat 2 water treatment plant which includes a pipe conveyor of approximately 2000m long from the plant to the residual storage shelter (near Bukit Enggang Balancing Reservoir).
Salcon, in 2020 successfully completed the 1,130 million liters per day Langat 2 Water Treatment
The project is a construction contract and has no option for renewal.
The duration of the contract is 27 months with the date of completion on Jan 3, 2025.
“The award of the project is the testament of the solid confidence that PAAB as client has in Salcon’s strong track record and expertise in the local water industry and we are confident of carrying out the project to successful completion,” chief operating officer Jamiluddin Amini Sulaiman. said in a separate statement.
