The Chinese brand Xiaomi is launching into the Windows on ARM space. The company has just announced the launch of the Xiaomi Book S.
The new 2-in-1 powered by Windows 11 is Xiaomi’s latest Windows device and it looks like a good competitor to the Surface Pro X (via Neowin.) At a price of € 699, the device is one that Xiaomi says should “enhance your mobile work experience”.
It sports a 12.4-inch 2560 x 1600 touchscreen resolution set to 16:10 with a total brightness of 500 nits. As for the processor, it is the latest generation Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2, which still offers good performance, but not as much as the new 8xc Gen 3 found in the ThinkPad X13.

Other features on board include two 2-watt speakers and 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras. There is even a stand for the Xiaomi Smart Pen and a magnetically fixed keyboard, as the keyboard is not included in the price. Note, however, that unlike the Surface Pro X, this is a Wi-Fi-only device and there are no cellular options, probably as a cost-cutting measure.
