Toulouse: a rising K-pop star announced for this festival dedicated to Korean culture

C’est un event qui devrait rassembler des hundredse de personnes à Toulouse (Haute-Garonne). On 24 au 25 septembre, la Salle Jean Mermoz welcome 2nd edition has Woori Festivala manifestation dedicated to it South Korean culture et accessoryment à la K-popthe most popular musical trend among young people.

Une culture en plein boom

Organized by the French-Korean association of Toulouse, which also offers regular courses and workshops throughout the year, the Woori Festival counts on tous les passionnés pour faire vivre la culture sud-korean dans la Ville rose. Le rassemblement avait déjà rencontre un frank success pour sa première edition en 2019. Les billets sétait vendu en une semaine!

“There are a hundred South Koreans who live in Toulouse,” explains Agathe Duclos, member of the association and very active in the organization of the festival. Ce nest pas beaucoup, but their culture is more and more appreciated in France. There are also exchanges between the Jean Jaurès University and the University of Busan. This is why we decided to create this festival in Toulouse. »

Un invité de marque

Brought by Edmonde Grutchfield (president) and Mikyung Kim (vice-president), the association took advantage of these last months to structure and imagine a gathering of national scope.

“South Korea invests a lot of money in promoting its culture. This helps us organize this type of event. »

Pour l’occasion, l’équipe a mis les petits plats dans les grands en accueilant Choi Suhwan, a rising star of K-pop. The young auteur-compositeur notably participated Producex101, a popular tele-crochet in South Korea. This will be his first appearance on stage abroad. “This is the first time that this type of artist has performed at a festival in France,” says the organization.

Et des dizaines d’animations

In addition to Choi Suhwan, many activities will be on the weekend program with the presence of several guests specialized in Korean culture: Sam et les dramas », « Heydjuce », « K-Coffee Time », the Korean traditional dance troupe « Han Dong Yeop ” and ” Soleil Nocturne ».

K-Pop dance groups are also announced.
