Telecom minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has given a stern warning to the BSNL employees, saying that no laxity in work will be tolerated.

Railway and Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw issued an ultimatum to employees of Bharat Sanchar Nigar Limited (BSNL). The Union minister asked the employees to either show up for work or there would be consequences.
In leaked audio from the meeting, Ashwini Vaishnaw could be heard giving a stern warning to the BSNL workforce.
Telecom minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has recently announced a package of Rs 1.64 lakh crore to strengthen the chronically ailing Public Sector Undertaking (PSU). However, the Union minister warned that there will be a monthly audit of progress achieved.
Ashwini Vaishnaw told the employees tjay based on the performance and result, “Those who cannot work, can take voluntary retirement and sit comfortably at home”

Vaishnaw said that by giving such a big package, the government did what it could do.
No government in the world has taken such a big risk as Prime Minister Narendra Modi has by giving a package of Rs 1.64 lakh crores. Now it is your turn to put your life so that the department sees less and the public gets convenience, the Union minister told BSNL employees.
“The government will not tolerate any laxity in this. We want results in two years,” Ashwini Vaishnaw said.
Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted that with the merger of BSNL and BBNL, the new venture is getting 6 lakh 83 thousand km of optical fiber cable of BSNL, in addition to 5 lakh 68 thousand km of optical fiber cable of BBNL. This optical fiber cable has been laid in 1 lakh 45 thousand villages under the Digital India policy of the government.
